I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a fully qualified counsellor and registered* member of the BACP (the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and bound by its professional code of ethics.
I have completed specific additional training in online and telephone counselling: I have a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling and am a member of ACTO (the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online) and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Online Counsellors.
I attend regular supervision and I am fully insured. I undertake ongoing training and continuing professional development essential to furthering my professional practice.
As well as working in private practice, I have also volunteered for a number of years with Bristol Mind’s counselling service (affiliated to the national mental health charity, Mind).
I have worked with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, religions and cultures and have had the privilege of supporting individuals, young and older, experiencing a wide range of life issues and emotional and mental health difficulties.

I enjoyed a varied career before becoming a counsellor, as well as time away from the workplace as a stay-at-home dad for my two boys.
I have worked in a variety of environments in the commercial and charitable sectors – as a Solicitor, as a Legal Recruiter and as an Advocate for children in care (including asylum seeking children), young care leavers and children involved in child protection proceedings.
Like many of us, I have experienced my own share of challenges in life. I am passionate about my counselling work and feel genuinely fortunate to be working in a role where I can help others to find their own ways through difficult times.
Among other interests outside my work as a counsellor, I spend time with family and friends, watch (any and every) sport and love getting out into nature. A secluded hill walk – when my dodgy knees allow – is my happy place!
